He was the first photographer to be elected to the Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris. He is decorated as Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, Commandeur des Arts et Lettres, et Académicien des Beaux Arts.

One of my favorite and most prized books in my Taurine collection is a first edition TOROS MUERTOS by Lucien Clergue. I am glad to know someone who appreciates the art of the bullfight as much as...the art of the bullfight! Cheers.
