Leather Armchairs...The Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club

Clubland Part VI

The Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club is Ireland's Premier Private Member's Club.

Each Club is its own sanctuary - a home away from home - here away from the ouside world without any disturbance I can have my quite hours of the day.

In 1756 the house was transformed into the mansion you see today.

There is a lovely carved rams's horn scroll at the end of the staircase handrail.

The "Dining" Room with its sash windows, La Franchini ceilings and marble fireplaces.

"The interiors of The Stephen's Greens Hibernian Club are regarded as the finest of the La Franchini's in Dublin and of great European importance."

Well another - GUINNESS

Clubs undoubtedly fulfil a social need.

The Club was established in 1840 and has have the same premises since then.

Hunting and Gatherings - Canvas and Leather

Beauty, Art and Taste
I always look for pieces which has been carefully crafted,
aesthetically pleasing, and evoke the old era of travel during the early 20th Century.  They should be practical and functional and sometimes have a splash of contemporary feel.

El Cordobes - Nimes - 1963

I have always been a Bullfight Aficionado - these photographs are pure art,  captured in the moment of time and expression.

El Cordobes

Lucien Clergue meets Picasso in Arles (France) in 1953 - their friendship lasted a lifetime.  Together at the  bullfights in France they experienced  the Art of Bullfighting.
