Images in the Tropical Zone.....Where.........

(All Photos in this Post by Tavarua)

.....there have been stories written, stories told, stories watched on the screen and stories lived.... if I could write, I would have written one or maybe a few....nothing extraordinary but a story....a story about....we already know about what...we all have a story to tell...but to understand your own story... you have to live in it...there were and are a few men and women who live/lived life to the fullest...because they took life to heart and if you do...life will never be the same... sometimes, for some of us you have to be a risk taker...and balance on the razors edge in life..to feel it...other times it could be just that you refuse to have that ordinary day ever again....
.
The heat is increasing during the day.........

There is something ......hidden...out there...called life and freedom - it is up to you to find it...

Turtles bring good luck....
.
Listen to the never ending orchestra of sounds....
.
Seek some shade......and close your eyes for a few minutes and listen.....
.
Shade can bring some magnificent patterns...

Coconuts and coconut water...refreshments in the sun.....

and a dinner......Iguana....very tasty.....another name for it - "Bamboo Chicken".....

From the Tropical Zone - (No Hoggett) - Tantalus - a Roorkhee Chair - and a Turtle Box.....

No Hoggett - Where ever you go......bring your Tantalus ......it was in England but not until the last half of the nineteenth century it came to use - it is nothing wrong to bring it with you - here you are somewhere.....living a simple life.........and you need your Sundowner.......at sunset, a toast to life and the night of reflections and thoughts. Make yourself comfortable in your Roorkhee....The decanters are square, usually of cut or engraved glass elegant decanters can be seen and admired around the world.. we do still Travel with them..... ???? The decanters are safely secured and cannot be removed from the Tantalus during the day, nor can their stoppers be withdrawn as we keep it locked and the "Turtle" keeps the key. No - pilfering ......
Keep the key safeguarded by your Turtle box...(Taxidermy - Of Course).....
If you can hide the key in a Hippo foot?...Must be a large key....

Life in the Tropical Zone - Each day I rise with the Sun in the early morning.....the air I breath is filling my lungs with salty ocean mist.. a few Manta Rays were swimming by ..

..a Pelican is flying close to the water...

(Sea Turtle - Engraving By R.H. Badeau)

the Sea Turtles keep on coming ashore at night to lay their eggs...60 days later the "little" ones will hatch in search for the nearby ocean......Ocean of dreams....My hair is getting blonder my skin is getting darker...Passion for life rises with the heat and intensity of the blood red sun - the heart of life - a canvas for an early reflection - a moment of stillness and thought - each day - to remind us about our gratitude to life... - Absorb it - Tomorrow - Rise with the Sun....and you will know why.....

"Under Canvas" - It is the moves between continents and when I have decided to establish my "Travellers Rest" I bring the most of everything you do not need - Well, you always need Books and more books and the oriental rugs, an old chesterfield sofa and a club chair, safari chairs and some old small heirlooms and a few sculptures, hunting bottles, lap desks, humidors, engravings, safari clothes, of course dinner jackets and pumps, and so on...(No, I do not watch a lot of TV ..lost time in a non-reality world)
I do not pack for "under canvas" for each short voyage that would be in excess.....

"A horse is poetry in motion" - Hunting with Hounds.............

“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
- Sir Winston Churchill

A lovely horse is always an experience.... It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words.
~Beryl Markham
.
Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride,
Friendship without envy,
Or beauty without vanity?
Here, where grace is served with muscle
And strength by gentleness confined
He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity.
There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent.
There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.
All our history is in his industry.
We are his heirs, he our inheritance.
~Ronald Duncan, "The Horse," 1954
.

“Very few people have settled entirely in the country but have grown at length weary of one another . . . the gentleman falls in love with his dogs and horses and out of love with everything else.” - Lady Montagu
.
No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.
~Winston Churchill

Hunting is our music,
It is our Poetry,
It is our Art,
It is our Pleasure
